Clinicians searching for a Heidi alternative usually want an ambient AI scribe that works in Canada, drafts notes they can sign, and does not lock them to one EMR. What both products are
Scribeberry is an AI medical scribe built in Canada. It records or accepts dictation of a clinical encounter (with consent), drafts a structured note, and lets the clinician edit before the note goes into an EMR. The company address published on this site is in Edmonton, Alberta. Pro pricing published on this site is $99 per month, or $999 per year. A trial mode is available at no charge (3 days unlimited, then 20 uses per month). Scribeberry states HIPAA, PIPEDA, and SOC 2 Type 2 compliance on its security page.
Heidi, on its Canada marketing site, describes itself as an AI care partner for clinicians. Public product areas named on that site include Scribe, Evidence, Dictate, and Remote (a clip-on microphone). The clinician login and product app are published at scribe.heidihealth.com. Heidi publishes a Canada compliance page stating PIPEDA alignment and provincial privacy legislation, and states that for Canadian users, patient data is hosted on cloud infrastructure in Quebec. Heidi also publishes a Trust Center at trust.heidihealth.com.
Both companies sell software that drafts clinical notes from visits. Both tell Canadian clinicians they address PIPEDA. Both publish a free entry point. Beyond that, the products are not identical, and only a trial on each side will tell you which draft you will actually sign.

Run the same three visits on both tools. Use your real template, your real EMR, and your usual after-hours cleanup. Time the edit. Count missed meds and wrong laterality. Check where the audio and notes live. Read the BAA / PIPEDA documentation your privacy officer actually needs. Price the configuration you would buy, not the homepage headline.
If PDF form filling (T2201, AISH, WSIB, WorkSafeBC, ICBC) is a daily task, look at Scribeberry's Forms workflow and upload your clinic's PDFs during the trial. If a clip-on microphone or Heidi Evidence is the reason you searched, look at those products on Heidi's site. Those are different jobs.
