The AI receptionist, in brief

What Berry answers.
What it won’t.

Berry is Scribeberry’s AI receptionist for clinics. It answers the clinic phone in English or French, answers common questions, books and moves appointments, takes refill requests and messages, sends new patients the intake form, transfers callers to staff, and tells anyone with emergency symptoms to call 911 while it alerts your team. Every call lands on the Front Desk with a transcript and a written note.

What can Scribeberry’s AI receptionist do on a call?

Berry answers questions about your clinic, books, moves and cancels appointments, takes messages and refill requests, sends new patients your intake form by text, transfers callers to staff, and handles calls from pharmacies, hospitals and other clinics. You choose which of these are on, and whether Berry books directly or sends requests to your team to approve.

What happens if a caller has an emergency?

Safety checks are always on and can’t be turned off. If a caller describes emergency symptoms such as chest pain, trouble breathing or signs of a stroke, Berry tells them to hang up and call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department, then texts your on-call team. Berry never gives medical advice or reads out test results.

Do patients know they’re talking to an AI?

Yes. Berry introduces itself as the clinic’s virtual assistant, and if anyone asks whether they’re speaking with a person, it says it’s the clinic’s virtual assistant.

Can we keep our existing phone number?

Yes. Forward your clinic number to Berry for every call, only when the desk is busy or after hours, or only outside open hours. Or get a new Berry number.

Which calendars can Berry book into?

Berry books into Accuro once it’s connected, using live open times, or into the Scribeberry schedule. You set the visit types, which providers can be booked by phone, and whether new patients can book.

How much does it cost?

Your first 200 minutes of patient calls are free, and test calls don’t count. After that it’s $0.22 CAD per minute Berry is on a call, $0.20 above 3,000 minutes in a month, and calls under 15 seconds aren’t billed. A dedicated Berry line is $5 a month. You set a monthly spending cap and can pause Berry anytime. The receptionist is available on Scribeberry Pro and clinic plans.

How do we set it up?

Point Berry at your website or Google listing, or upload a photo or PDF, and it drafts your clinic details for you to check. Choose a voice and greeting, pick what Berry handles, connect your calendar, then have Berry call your cell so you can play the patient. Nothing goes live until you publish.
