How AI scribes send structured notes to your EMR

An AI scribe saves time only if the finished note lands in the chart without copy and paste. There are four ways that happens, and which one you get depends on your EMR. Here is how each works, and how Scribeberry connects to the EMRs Canadian and US clinics use most.

The four connection types

1. Official API. The scribe reads chart context and writes the reviewed note through the EMR vendor's own interface. Scribeberry connects to Accuro this way, through the official marketplace API.

2. Browser extension. For web EMRs, the Scribeberry Chrome extension pulls chart context into the scribe (Smart Pull) and pushes the finished note into the chart fields (Smart Push). This is how OSCAR Pro, TELUS CHR and TELUS Med Access connect.

3. Launch from the EMR. TELUS PS Suite opens Scribeberry from inside the patient chart, so the note starts with the right patient.

4. Desktop entry. For installed EMRs such as Epic workstations, the Scribeberry desktop app types the reviewed note or dictation into the field you have open.

What a structured note means in practice

The note arrives in sections, not as one block of text: history, exam, assessment and plan, or whatever your template defines. With Smart Push, each section goes to its matching chart field. With desktop entry, you place each section where you want it.

The note stays a draft until you review and approve it. Nothing is filed to the chart without your sign-off.

Questions to ask any vendor

Does the scribe read chart context, or only write to it? Which fields does it write to? Is there an integration fee? What happens on a shared or locked-down workstation? Scribeberry answers these on each EMR page and charges no integration fee.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI scribes create structured notes directly in an EMR?

Scribeberry drafts a structured note in your template and sends it to the chart. It uses the official API for Accuro, the Chrome extension with Smart Push for web EMRs such as OSCAR Pro, TELUS CHR and Med Access, a launch from inside TELUS PS Suite, and the desktop app for installed EMRs such as Epic. The note stays a draft until you approve it.

Does Scribeberry work with Epic and Oracle Health (Cerner)?

Yes. With Epic, the Scribeberry desktop app types the reviewed note into the field you open on your workstation. With Oracle Health (Cerner), you can use the Chrome extension or the desktop app.

Is there an integration fee?

No. EMR connections are included in Scribeberry plans, from $99/month per provider for Pro.
